The Fall 2007 edition of the Blaffer Student Association's BASH went remarkably well thanks to the docents that helped welcome our guests. Over thirty students and adults toured the Gallery during the three hour event and were graciously led through the exhibitions by Alix, Matthew, and Tina. The BASH itself had over 200 in attendance and was featured in the September 14th edition of the Daily Cougar.
Please note that tours are beginning to appear on the calendar. Let me know which ones you would like to lead. Also, remember to check out the posted outlines listed on the right.

I very much enjoyed giving tours at the Red Block Bash. In the short time given to each tour I found that I had to engage the viewers and convey the passion of the artists, to do the work justice. As a tour guide I feel that we have a responsibility to the artist and their work. That comes from the personal interaction with have with them and with the knowledge that we are offering works that would otherwise go unseen in Houston. It was very rewarding to chat with photography students. They, in particular, appreciated Mr Mylayne's work and his high level of skill. I hope in some way that they continue to be inspired.
