Spring 2008 Young Artists Apprenticeship Program

The YAAP Spring Session is half-way through as we begin our final projects. These pieces will be on display in the side gallery of the Blaffer Art Gallery upon completion of the program. YAAP is an after-school outreach program in which the museum education department hand selects students from area high schools. These schools include Cesar Chavez, Austin, and Milby High Schools as well as Eastwood Academy. We are fortunate to have eleven enthusiastic teenagers this semester who have already created impressive collages and experimental paintings. Stay tuned for more. These images are from our media-based first project based on time-based media and the artist Robin Rhodes.
