Archeologists in Mexico City digging at the ancient Aztec ruins in Tenochtitlan believe that they may be on the verge of uncovering the tomb of Ahuitzotl, the predecessor of Moctezuma, who ruled from 1486 to 1502. They found artifacts and evidence that leads them to believe that they are on the verge of uncovering a royal tomb. Artifacts that have been unearthed over the past thirty years will be on display at the British Museum’s exhibition, Moctezuma: Aztec Ruler which runs from September 24 to January 24, 2010.
