Summer Arts 2009: Off to a Great Start!

The Blaffer Gallery Summer Arts program is currently underway. Thank you to our wonderful tour guides and docents that took the children through the gallery and informed them of the process and inspiration behind Leonardo Drew’s art work. The children have been busy with activities from sketching Drew’s art work while wearing a “Robotic Seeing Machine,” that they constructed, to making paper. They are having so much fun and we are too!

The Summer Arts workshops are led by Houston artist and educator, Patrick Renner. Patrick is a teacher at the High School for Visual and Performing Arts. He received his MFA from Alfred University in NY, and his BA from the Kansas City Art Institute. We are very happy to have him working with us this summer.
